Upward Bound

Greetings! My name is Noah Grant, and I am thrilled to introduce myself as the Southwest High School Academic Advisor for the TRIO Upward Bound program at Normandale Community College.
I can be found at Southwest High School in room 211 for after school tutoring from 3:00-5:00pm every Tuesday and Thursday. Students are welcome to stop by anytime to learn more about Upward Bound and to pick up an application, or we can schedule a time to connect through email.
TRIO Upward Bound is a federally funded program designed to support first-generation and low-income high school students in their pursuit of higher education. Our mission is to provide resources, guidance, and encouragement to ensure students not only complete high school but also successfully enroll in and graduate from college. The program is completely free for eligible students!
In my role, I will be working closely with students, families, and school staff to offer services such as:
● Academic advising and support
● ACT/SAT preparation and assistance with college applications
● Financial Aid help and scholarship opportunities
● Career exploration and financial literacy workshops
● Opportunities for cultural and educational enrichment, including summer programming
Students in grades 9-11 are welcome to apply to join Upward Bound, which provides ongoing support through graduation.
